You’re not the only one…

DO I HAVE TO BE GOOD AT ART TO COME?

No way José. These classes are all about ENJOYING painting and creating - there is NO pressure at all to make something ‘good’. All classes are for all levels - every ability, every time :)

What time do I rock up?

Great question this is! The time on your ticket is when to arrive. We don’t start painting right away. We give at least 10 minutes for people to get here, settle in, pour a drink, get your smocks on, use the restroom and get comfortable :)
Doors will also be open 15-minutes prior to this start time though, so you’re welcome to come in a little earlier, especially if you’d like to start to set some things up. No stress with timing, we’re chill. Even if you’re running late still rock up and we’ll get you sorted and caught up!

What do we actually bring?

With our private and public paint sessions, all art materials are supplied - paint, palette, cloth, brushes, canvases and aprons. From thereon you’re welcome to bring any food or drink you like, from fruit to delivery pizza, apple juice to red wine. We do not sell food nor drink, but we are happy to help serve it for you - we have glasses, serving platters, plates, bowls and cutlery in the studio for you to use :)
Swan Street is full of amazing food options too, so you can even pick something up on the way or get food delivered straight to the studio!

Do you recommend anywhere good to get food and drinks?

Oh yeah! Thankfully, in Cremorne and Richmond, food is never far. Only a few doors down is a great Japanese restaurant called Kokoro Japanese Sushi, owners are lovely, the sushi is sleek (as well as their hot meals). If Mexican cuisine is your thing, Si Senor Art Taqueria is right across the road and Fondas and Hecho En Mexico are both 2 minutes walk away! Greenstreat is also a short walk away for your healthy salads and bowls (and smoothies), they also do larger platters to share! We’re also fortunate enough to have a Blackhearts & Sparrows two doors down, with Speciality Wine & Beer!
You’re definitely safe to rock up to the area and wing it… endless choices.

What do I wear?

Well yes, fashion is completely personal, BUT please keep in mind that, yes, there is paint around the place, so we don’t suggest wearing your designer cream pants or your family heirloom bracelet :(
Our paint is water-based and should therefore come off in the wash (with the stain remover to be safe, or with a bit of dishwashing liquid then and there, we can help you with that) but it does depend on the material and some can be stubborn! You will have an apron provided so that’ll help :)
But basically, being happy and carefree in what you’re wearing can increase the fun and decrease the clothing disappointments.

Can I come by myself?

Yes of course you may! We love solo guests! If being alone is your thing we respect that, but it’s also not long before you get chatting and enjoy the company of everyone else in the class. So whatever your jam we have you covered, LIKE JAM.

Can I bring my kids?

Kids are great! All of our staff have working with children checks and Bianca (our owner and artist) is a qualified teacher, so they’re for sure welcomed, we love their energy in our studio!

In saying this, due to the nature of Paint-and-Sips, we know it best to not have every session openly child-friendly! Certain public sessions are however, and they are labeled on our website, so you’ll know when you book :)

We do also allow children in private sessions, so it is up to your organiser if they’d prefer a kids-free or kids-friendly event :)

Children (under 18s) do need to have adult supervision at public family-friendly sessions, and for a private group of children, a ratio of one adult per every eight children is required :)

Thank you so much!
